Turmeric in skincare

Turmeric in skincare isn't a new concept. There's plenty of skincare products on the market that use turmeric because of its amazing properties. There's even skincare brands that are completely based around this magical little root!

Turmeric has been used in skincare in the Indian subcontinent region (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) for a very long time.
Women in this region have made and continue to make their own skincare recipes such as face masks and serums using turmeric.
Our founder, Harleen, lived in India twice. She had the opportunity to live in Punjab, India when she was 6 and when she 15.
She recalls her aunts and the local women in the village that she lived in, making their own turmeric masks using simple ingredients like turmeric root powder, plain yogourt, crushed rose petals and chickpea flour.

Now you're probably wondering, why is turmeric so good for your skin?
It's because turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that naturally reduces melanin production in your skin—that means faded dark spots and acne scars, a more even skin tone, and lightened facial hair.
Also, turmeric is full of anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, meaning it's amazing at reducing the appearance of pimples and helping calm conditions like eczema.
Because of its antioxidant properties, turmeric helps you retain your skin's elasticity even after long term UVB exposure. That means a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.'re probably wondering which of our products have turmeric and if it stains?
We currently use turmeric in our HEAL facial serum, and our BOOST under eye cream.
A pretty common question is if it stains? Yeah it can! However, our formulations use just the right amount of turmeric so that it doesn't stain your skin.
